NEW YORK WOMEN’S COALITION FELLOWSHIP
Two Fellowship opportunities for Spring 2010

The Equal Pay Coalition NYC (EPCNYC) is a consortium of 30+ civic organizations, advocates and experts working together for Pay Equity in NY. EPCNYC was created in 2007 by the New York Women’s Agenda (NYWA) in response to growing concern and mounting evidence of the continuing economic discrimination suffered by New York’s women, minorities and their families. EPCNYC’s activities promote public awareness and policy reform at all levels of government and in business to create fair pay reform.

Fellowship responsibilities include:
• Work on the annual Equal Pay Day NYC activities in April
• Expand Outreach efforts to engage the NY community, especially college students and members of the Hispanic, African-American and Asian communities
• Research women’s economic policy and help develop materials;
• Build strong online and media initiatives
• Help develop a Pay Equity Toolkit and Media Training for advocates

HOURS/STIPEND: 15-20 hrs/week (flexible schedule) - $100 per month and course credit, if possible

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of and passion for achieving women’s rights
• Enrolled in advanced undergraduate or graduate program in relevant field
• Previous experience in public policy, advocacy, media, and/or research
• Excellent written and online communication skills
